Catholic monarchs in Britain?
Justice Minister Jack Straw said in March that the government was “certainly ready to consider” reviewing the “antiquated” ban on Catholic monarchs.

Now that this Catholic issue is resolved, what happens to Presbyterians, Methodists, Calvinists, Quakers, Seventh Day Adventists, Mormons, Lutherans, Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Armenian Orthodox, Serbian Orthodox, Baptists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, The Episcopal Church? Are they not Christian enough?

Bush attends an Episcopal church in Washington and belongs to a Methodist church in Texas, and his political base is solidly evangelical. Yet this Protestant president has surrounded himself with Roman Catholic intellectuals, speechwriters, professors, priests, bishops and politicians. Does it really matter you shouldn’t barred someone from the thron if you marry a catholic, it is so dumb.
I think more than merits or demerits of religion (organized or otherwise) is the:-
1. Combining political might of the State (like the Spanish Inquisition), Britain (Henry VIII), Germany (Hussite Wars), France (The Albigensian Crusades) which are loathsome.
2. If this is further made powerful with economic leverage ( i.e. political + religion + economic) it can become an incendiary combination.
3. Mixed this with the exploitation of the labour (like in slavery) it is the ultimate depravity in society.
It is these elephants in the history room of Europe that need to seen – and recognized.
